Happy Vishu 2017 (Malayalam New Year): Wishes, SMS, Messages, WhatsApp, Facebook Quotes, Images And Much More

The Malayali family in Kerala mark the special day Vishu which is Malayalam New Year by preparing Vishu, which means “what is seen first on Vishu”, means on this day the Keralite begins their day with happiness and also they stay away from rift or any kind of tension.

Vishu is the Hindu New Year festival; Vishu is celebrated and rejoice in the state Kerala and also in Karnataka. Signifying the sun’s journey into the Meda Raasi, it is observed and scrutinise on the first day of the month called Medam.

This year, the Vishu falls on 14^th April 2015 and on this day the Malayali Hindus worship Lord Vishnu or Lord Krishna in the morning time after taking bath. Afterward Puja the people visit temples to have a Vishukkani Kazhcha (viewing) means to see the Lord Vishnu and also to seek blessings from him.

Vishu is observed in the early hours of the day in the house of God such as Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple or Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple or Kulathupuzha Sree BaalaShastha Temple. This is the same festival which is marking the New Year starting.

But in the different areas of India Vishu is actually known as different names, like, Ugadhi in Andhra Pradesh and in Karnataka, Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, Bihu in Assam and Baisakhi in Punjab. Families mark the day by preparing Vishukkani, which means “what is seen first on Vishu.”

And the celebration of the festival is done with the same spirit by the mass. In Tamil Nadu the New Year is known as apparently Puthandu and in West Bengal it is known as Poila Boishak which is in Kerala Vishu Kani.
